Hines is a fully integrated real estate investment and management firm which has been investing in real estate assets and providing acquisition, development, financing, property management, leasing or disposition services for 65 years. Founded in 1957 by Gerald D. Hines, Hines has benefited from continuous, stable, entrepreneurial leadership with a focus on real estate. Mr. Hines’ son, Jeffrey C. Hines, has been running the business as President and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) since 1990 and is responsible for overseeing all firm policies and procedures as well as day-to-day operations. Upon Gerald Hines’ passing on August 23, 2020, at the age of 95, Jeff Hines assumed the title of Chairman and CEO while maintaining his current responsibilities at the helm. In February 2022, Laura Hines-Pierce was promoted to Co-CEO and works side-by-side with her father, Jeff Hines, to help shape firmwide strategy and manage key risks. Hines’ multi-generational private ownership provides a long-term approach towards value creation that it believes is fully aligned with the requirements of its investor partners. As of December 31, 2021, Hines has a presence in 285 cities across 28 countries globally and currently employs a staff of approximately 4,800 people, including approximately 3,200 employees in the United States and over 1,600 employees internationally.
